1. What primary reason motivated you to start and finish the Challenge?

A. God. I knew that to be an instrument for Him, I needed to get a hold on my life by not being out of control. In any aspect. Eating healthy has given me more energy to do what He is asking me to do.

B. How I felt. I was tired. I was lethargic. I was crabby. I needed a change.

C. Clothes. Plain and simple, I wanted to wear what I wanted when I wanted.

D. Husband admiration. He is the biggest cheerleader in my life, and having his kind and flirty words makes my day. Every day!!

2. What were your results - how many inches, pounds, dress sizes, or pant sizes did you lose? Moreover, did you have any changes in health indicators, such as cholesterol levels or blood pressure? Did your energy levels change?

My blood pressure, which was not bad to start, went down 20 points. My OB wanted me to make sure and mention this, she is very proud of my weight loss.

This challenge I lost 10 pounds, 14 ½ inches.

Since July 13, 2007 when I joined SBC, I have lost 17 pounds, 28 ½. inches!! This does not include my "spare tire" measurement (around abdomen) which went down 6 inches alone! I started a size 13 (or more, I squeezed into those!) I am now a very comfortable size 3/4 or 5/6!! It depends on the clothes. I also went from a tight medium in t-shirts and mostly large blouses to a small in both. Sometimes I even wear my daughters' tops, they both wear extra small. So I went down 2 "sizes" in tops, and 5 sizes in pants/jeans! (I can't get enough exclamation points in here! I am so excited!)

An added bonus, my rings all fit, even my pinky ring. In fact, they are getting pretty loose; they are twisting all day long. If I even wore my rings before, I, first off, would not wear my pinky ring, because it was way too tight, secondly, I could hardly get the others on or off unless I used lotion. Therefore, my rings were too snug, and uncomfortable to wear.

3. How has your mental outlook changed - do you have more confidence?

I am so much more sure of myself now. After the last challenge, I wrote how I was taking on more responsibility. I have become a singer in the worship team at church. That wouldn't be so "scary" if there were 30 or even 20 people singing in front of the congregation with me. There are 3 of us. Sometimes 5. My voice is out there. I do this every Sunday, after I choose the songs to be sung, and the scriptures to be read. These three things are my sale responsibility, no one else's. God has also led me to start (I didn't say join or do something they asked me to) I am starting a women's prayer group. I decided this myself and put it together myself and am starting it. I could/would not have taken any of this on myself before, because blending into the background was so much safer.

My husband says I walk with more confidence. And I am sure I do. I don't have to fidget with my clothes when I walk, or when I get up and down from sitting etc. And I know I look good in these jeans. They fit and they are cute. Energy? Wow, that sounds like such a silly question. What I can and do now is ANYTHING on a moments notice. I don't need to nap first, or say I would rather stay home. I can get up and do it, whether it is take a walk, or help someone clean house, or put the water jug on the cooler at work! Or just run to the mall or errands with my husband. Really, I would pass many of these in favor of a nap or out of pure laziness.

I am not afraid of dressing rooms any more. I would always just buy things (if I went out at all) and try them on at home. I have more trouble now finding things small enough! Did you hear that? SMALL ENOUGH!

4. How do you truly feel, right now, about your body after your transformation?

Have you heard of the new show on Lifetime TV called "How to look good naked"? My body is something even I want to look at. If the girls' friends come around while I am laying in the yard sunbathing, I will not cover my belly when I get up. I am truly a transformed person. Inside and out. I walk with my shoulders back and my head held high, things I haven't done since high school. I have finally "come into" myself. I feel and act younger than I did 10 years ago. And, I smile more. Smiling feels so good.

5. How do you truly feel, right now, about your life - how has it improved?

This was pretty much answered in #4. I am happier now. Weight loss or gain is not the reason for you to be happy. But because I do not have to stress about what to eat and what I look like, I am free to make the rest of my life better. Life is good. Oh so good. I love me. Now I am free to love others.

6. What kept you motivated and allowed you to finish this contest?

Every new muscle, every extra rep, made me want to work harder. As my clothes get looser, or just look so much better than before, that is pure motivation. And, of course, my family cheering me on. Nothing feels better than a (size zero) daughter saying, "Mom, you've got abs!"

Both of my daughters are dancers. Dance team members. What a great feeling it is when they ask me to learn their new dance, or do the move so they can see if it works with the music.

And how I feel. Feeling healthy is very motivating. When you feel great, you don't want to eat that bag of chips, because you know how horrid you will feel afterward!

7. What were some of your keys to success in losing weight?

Work, work, work. I have said it before, it is simple; but it isn't easy. I workout with alii got. I relish every bite of food I put in my mouth. Making sure that nothing is "off limits", but everything in moderation, this frame of mind has really been a key to my success. I state to my family when I will not be joining them for a certain meal, and, after I say it out loud, it is easier to go on with my plan. I try to practice what I preach on the website. And, many times I am preaching because I too need the advice.

So the keys to my success?
a. Work hard
b. Eat right, with the right attitude
c. Get on the site and learn all I can, and give all I can

8. What challenges did you have to overcome while participating in this contest?

Negative thoughts. My body didn't get rid of a lot of pounds; instead it gained a lot of muscle. Lost a lot of inches. But because of this, my scale not moving, and not being able to change my "ticker", it was depressing. You know what you want to do when you are depressed.

Another depressing thing, no one, I mean NO ONE noticed, except family. NO ONE. I don't know what they thought before, when I was up 5 sizes and still had my tummy hanging over, but not one word is said. John will even point it out and people just smile and nod like he is speaking a foreign language. I want to scream, "Was I invisible?" This is a very sad point to me, that no one cared enough before to notice. Good thing that I decided early on that this is for me, and really no one else. There are two men in our congregation that are working hard for health reasons to lose weight. Now I make sure and "notice" every little pound, because I know how depressing it is.

9. Why should you be chosen as a winner in this contest?

I am a normal woman. (At least mostly normal!). I was about 30 pounds overweight as of last July. Not a significant amount to lose. But enough to really feel sluggish, ugly and old. Losing 30 pounds is hard work, when it is the only weight you need to lose. Losing 30 is not so bad when you have 70 or 100 to lose, it is your "first step". (I am not trying to put down people who have lost a lot of weight). But that last 20 especially, is very difficult to get through. Your body does not want to work this hard. Your family does not want to work this hard. I worked harder at this than anything I ever did in my whole life. I have the body to prove it.

What I am saying is this: women with a "little" to lose have their work cut out for them. This plan does work, but it takes major commitment, devotion to a meal plan, and major devotion to exercise. 1could not have gotten this far working out 30 minutes once in the morning. Even 7 days a week. I had to work out most days twice a day, at least 30 minutes. Most days I went 45 or 60 for one or both sessions, some days 90 minutes. Its true that I have muscle definition that I never had before (and love it, by the way) but I was not working just for that, I wanted a transformed body, one my husband could be excited about, one I could proudly show off in any type of clothing I want. That was not happening on the 30 minutes a day routine.

I now love my body. I am going to continue to work hard to keep it this way. But what I am saying about winning this contest is this: I have worked so hard. So hard for this "little" weight loss. I may not have lost a "ton" of weight, but I worked harder than most to achieve what I have done.

I want other women who have 20 or less to lose, but can't seem to lose it, to know that it can be done. No matter what the age. I am living proof. Let me show others that those last few pounds are worth it!

Thank you for this site and plan that got me off my old duff and into this great body!

10. What weight loss support tools did you find to be the most helpful at SlimBodyCoach and why?

The E-book is a phenomenal resource. I recommend it for anyone who wants to lose weight, even if they choose to not follow this plan, they can see what can be done. What can be accomplished by regular people without Jillian from "The Greatest Loser" or lots of money like celebrities. And besides the success stories, the tips and gratitude pages can't be beat. Journals. Forums. The community here is what kept me going. They spurred me on. The coaches are personable and helpful, and several of them I count as true friends. My best "tool" on the site was actually Coach Marcia. She answered every question, crazy or not. And in the process became my friend.

The calculators and reports are helpful also, but the conversation is what got me where I am today.

11. What specific GNS Weight Loss Product did you use, how did you use them, and how did they help you in achieving your results?

Slim seduction, 3 pills ½ hour before meal one, ½ hour before meal 3.
- SS helped curb my appetite. Extreme craving control. More energy.
- Less turning down my husband (!). Might even start it once in awhile (!).

Lipo matrix, 2 pills twice a day, ½, hour before meals. Usually before meal l and meal 5.
- Fat "pockets" disappearing! Just look at me!

CLA Matrix, 1 pill three times a day with meals.
- This is a must have in combination with other supplements.

Slim Body Matrix Shakes, Vanilla Cake Batter. Two meals most days, sometimes three. Usually meal l and meal 4.
- Love the convenience and taste! Very versatile also.

Of course, the E-book.
