P.P.S. I’d also like to announce our winner for last week’s Slim Body Audio Minute question... “What are your favorite weight loss excuses?” Our winner for this week is Thea, screen name “misty8432”. Congratulations Thea, you’re the winner of $50 worth of GNS supplements! So with that in mind, here is the response she shared with us below:

“Excuses? How about:

1. I'm over 50; I'm allowed to look matronly.

2. My doctor said that one of the advantages of being overweight is that my bones have to work harder to hold onto the body mass, so I'm less likely to develop bone loss (I know he was kindly telling me to lose weight and take calcium).

3. My husband loves me the way I am.

What about excuses for getting healthy?

1. I'm over 50, and I don't want to look it.

2. There are no advantages to being overweight.

3. My husband loves me regardless, but I'd sure like to feel sexy again.

I love this web site. Thanks for all the interactive things.”

Slim Body Minute Transcription

Josh: Hello, Yolanda.

Yolanda: Hi.

Josh: It's Josh from Slim Body Coach.

Yolanda: Hi Josh, how are you?

Josh: Was that one of your children who answered?

Yolanda: Yes, that's my daughter Jessica.

Josh: She's like, "who is this?"

Yolanda: Yes, she usually answers the phone that way, with her attitude.

Josh: Yes, that's funny. I've got some very--well, I've got some, it's not so great news. You ready?

Yolanda: Sure.

Josh: I'm kidding; you're the winner of this round. Congratulations!

Yolanda: Oh my God! Oh my goodness! I can't believe it! I really thought I blew it this time.

Josh: Why's that?

Yolanda: Well, somebody else's pictures that I'd seen... I was like she kicked butt.

Josh: Oh, yeah. Well, it was really close, and the judging was really, really close but the judges voted, and you came out as the winner and so I wanted to call and congratulate you personally.

Yolanda: Oh my goodness, I can't believe it!

Josh: Yeah, you're going to be such a great inspiration, to so many people.

Yolanda: Oh my!

Josh: I wanted to let you know that you won a year's supply of GNS supplements, so any supplement of your choice, you'll get reimbursed for all the supplements you purchase from this round.

Yolanda: Wow!

Josh: And you get a $2,500.00 check sent to you, which we'll send out this week.

Yolanda: Oh, I need new clothes.

Josh: For being a spokesperson for our company.

Yolanda: Wow!

Josh: And you also win a cruise, a Caribbean cruise and you get to bring a guest.

Yolanda: Oh my God!

Josh: And you'll be going with me and Molly and some of our staff and our significant others and Molly's husband. You'll be joining Tina White, the winner from the previous round, and Marie Seibel, which is the winner from another round.

Yolanda: Oh yes, my inspiration, I can't wait to meet that woman.

Josh: Yeah. So you'll be going with all of us on a cruise, we're all going to celebrate and it's going to be a great time. You know, we're going to have a lot of fun on the cruise but I'm still going to make everybody exercise at least one day.

Yolanda: Yes, good. That's good.

Josh: We're going to go all exercise together in the cruise ship gym.

Yolanda: Oh, that's going to be fun.

Josh: It'll be fun. But yeah, you're the winner. So you win all of that.

Yolanda: Oh my Lord!

Josh: It's well over $5,000.00 in cash and prizes. I am so happy to call and let you know. I've got a couple of questions for you if you've got a minute.

Yolanda: I sure do. Are you kidding? I was sewing, that ended, I'm not sewing anymore. I'm done.

Josh: This is better; you can go out and celebrate. Well, first of all, what do you want to do with the $2,500.00?

Yolanda: I don't know, probably buy new clothes. I need some new workout outfits, a few things that I could definitely use, and especially if I'm going to go on a cruise and exercise with you guys I need a new outfit.

Josh: Okay, well that's good, $2,500.00 will buy you quite a few outfits, I'm sure. And anything else you want to do with that money?

Yolanda: I don't know.

Josh: Maybe you need time to think about it.

Yolanda: Yeah, I can't think, I'm so, I'm stunned, I can't think. You really caught me off guard I did not expect this. I thought I was surprised last time... this is really shocking.

Josh: Well, save a little bit of that money for the cruise because you'll probably need some extra spending money to buy stuff in different ports and stuff. But the next question I have is what are your reasons, what were your reasons for wanting to lose weight and join the Slim Body Challenge?

Yolanda: It has to be my grandson, I have to really say--I know I should be saying oh, for me, but it was for my grandson so I could keep up with him. So you know, a 3-year-old, I'm just too old to be chasing him and whatever. And I think I have more energy now than his own mom does. It's wonderful.

Josh: Right now, just to prove to everyone that you can do this no matter what your age, Marie Seibel was 63 when she won.

Yolanda: That's what kept me going. I was like, this lady did it, I can do this, I can do it.

Josh: And if you don't mind me saying your name, I'm sorry, your age; do you mind?

Yolanda: Oh, of course not. I'm very proud these days.

Josh: Isn't that funny? After you lose weight you're proud of your age.

Yolanda: Yes, I love announcing how old I am.

Josh: So you're 51.

Yolanda: Yep.

Josh: You really have changed so much, as everyone will see once they see the pictures online, you've changed so much. You're actually able to wear the black shorts and you look like you have a body of like someone in their early 30’s.

Yolanda: Oh my God.

Josh: So you look great, great, great!

Yolanda: Thank you.

Josh: So that's a powerful reason, losing weight, wanting to be around and be energetic and look and feel good and for your family members and yourself, that's really powerful. Now, how do you feel after you've lost the weight? I'm really curious about how you feel now compared to how you used to feel. Because most people, that's really what has to drive them because you know when they're going to eat junk food and everything, they're looking for the instant gratification of how the food tastes. But if they can really get in their mind how good it's going to feel in the future, they won't be as apt to eat that junk food. So how do you feel now?

Yolanda: Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels, let me tell you. It's wonderful. We just had a party for the 4th of July, something I haven't done in years. First of all I didn't have the energy t, entertain and clean and prepare for a party. And I was feeling so wonderful, the compliments and my family and people staring at me. And my sister just kept saying, “Oh my God, oh my God, you look better than you did in your 20s!” And now she's talking about taking before pictures. So, you know, because she's gained weight and it's funny because she was always thinner, and she was just in awe. And every time she was just staring at me and I just felt great, you know. My God, and the compliments and people talking to my husband, a neighbor that was invited was like, “Wow, your wife looks awesome, you should be so proud, you got yourself a young bride.” So, it was wonderful.

Josh: Yeah, and in your packet, one thing that you wrote, you said you feel more outgoing, and is that because you felt a little uncomfortable when you were overweight before?

Yolanda: Oh, I hated to even go food shopping; to go the store. I felt like, like what am I going to wear? And sweating, trying clothes, something that didn't show all the rolls, and just to go food shopping would be an ordeal. And now, I'm trying to find places to go.

Josh: Yeah, I found that so many people's lives changed because before they don't want pictures taken, they don't want to be in any family videos, they don't really want to see friends they haven't seen in a while, they don't want to go out in public. But then when they lose the weight they feel so great that all of a sudden their whole life changes because they're doing these things that they never would, you know, they never did before, and they haven't done in a long time. So it's kind of like a new lease on life.

Yolanda: Yeah, I feel like I did years ago when I was young and I loved going out and you know, it's like I feel that again, which is totally amazing. It's like I can't believe that I want to go out. And I'm the one asking my daughter, come on, you know, let's go here, let's go there, so yeah, it's like so different, totally different.

Josh: Yeah, so, just looking at some of your pictures, your pictures are right in front of me, and your measurements--you've lost over 25-3/4 inches.

Yolanda: Shocking isn't it?

Josh: Yeah. You've lost well over 22 pounds, but you've also added a lot of muscle tone. I mean your body has completely changed shape compared to where it was before.

Yolanda: Oh my gosh, yes.

Josh: Your shoulders and your posture and your stomach and your legs and your whole lower body have completely changed. Especially, I don't know how to put this, but especially your derriere we'll call it.

Yolanda: I lost that.

Josh: You lost it before, yeah, but like now...

Yolanda: It's like, where's my butt?

Josh: It's about half the size it looks great.

Yolanda: Yes, it is. My husband's like, the only thing is, he's like you look great but the only thing is, you got no butt.

Josh: No, but a lot of women would love to have that problem, believe me.

Yolanda: That's what I said, I'm like, I like that my butt is smaller. Well, he's not too happy about that.

Josh: Your whole body looks firm and toned. And so not only did you lose 22 pounds, but just by looking at these pictures I would venture to say that you, you gained a lot of muscle tone. So there's pounds of muscle gained, muscle tone gained and a lot of fat lost, so that's a really great job.

Yolanda: Yeah. And still when I say that I've lost, before when I said I lost 9 pounds everybody was stunned like 9 pounds? There's something wrong with your scales. But even now, I'll be like I lost, 22 pounds and they're like, that's it?

Josh: Yeah, I think you probably lost about 30 something pounds and you gained about 8 pounds of muscle around your body because you really changed a lot. And you went from a size 12--a very tight size 12, you said--too, now you're getting comfortably into 8’s and even some 6’s. So that's incredible.

Yolanda: Yeah, mostly 6’s, it's unbelievable. I'm like it's got to be the cut or something, I can't believe that I'm wearing this size and I just had to order bathing suits, I had ordered stuff that I thought I was going to wear for the challenge but silly me, I got them right after the last challenge and I bought 10’s. Well, forget about it, there was no way that I could wear them. So I had to return everything and just ordered 8’s and they're kind of loose. And that's what I was doing right now was sewing them, taking the stuff in. This is funny. Wow, so I really am a 6.

Josh: Well great. Now, something else I was going to tell you. We have a little extra gift for you. We're going to get you a session with a professional photographer so that you can get some nice pictures taken.
Yolanda: Oh my goodness!

Josh: Before you were saying that you had to do it with a camera with a timer.

Yolanda: Right.

Josh: And so that was kind of hard to do, so we're going to get you some of those and Molly will call you about that.

Yolanda: Wow!

Josh: And I just want to again say that what an inspiration. You're going to be an inspiration to so many women out there and you've done such a great job, and I think your key is probably consistency is just sticking with it, not giving up and I mean, do you have anything to add to that about consistency?

Yolanda: Definitely, it has to be--I was so faithful. I think that's why I'm feeling that, shocked because I don't feel like I've given it 100 percent. And that's with, all the running around and whatever, I'm lucky if I exercise every other day like a half hour, which I was, you know, exercising at least an hour and a half every day, so I'm feeling like I actually can't wait for summer to be over so I can start giving it my all.

Josh: So what you're saying is that you might not feel as though you worked as hard as you could have but you were at least consistent, and you know, a lot of people are misinformed, too. They think you have to exercise all day long, but half an hour a day or half an hour every other day, as long as your nutrition is in line it will help people tremendously. And they can make great changes like you did and not have to spend a huge amount of time.

Yolanda: Exactly, that's all I've been doing for the last couple of months. I'm lucky if I get that half hour in. Actually, a lot of times, its only 20 minutes, but I'm still watching what I eat, and that's it. I'm not killing myself anymore and I'm still losing weight.

Josh: Yeah, that's the important thing, the five mini-meals, following the outline that I wrote in the ebook, Slim Body Secrets, at SlimBodySecrets.com people can do this, all you have to do is stick to it and you don't have to kill yourself in the process.

Yolanda: Right, right.

Josh: And you're definitely a testament to that.

Yolanda: Yeah, I really thought that--I think it's a turnoff when you think you have to be a slave to exercise and to dieting. And it's just not so, I had a sundae yesterday.

Josh: You can do that I do that too. You know, once a week or twice a week I'll have a cheat meal, depending on what's going on in my life. But for the most part I'm consistent and I eat mini-meals during the day and I work out for at least 45 minutes a day. You know, sometimes four or five days a week. But if you just follow the Slim Body Secrets program and you know, the supplements help get better results faster, then you can be well on your way and get great results like you did and maybe even join and win the next round of the Challenge, which anyone can do.

Yolanda: Right, I wasn't a slave to it; I feel like I've been slacking big time, but still losing weight. I think also that building that muscle, they say muscle helps burn fat, and I think that building muscle is also helping. But of course I've got to get back into that or I'm going to lose my muscle, and it doesn't have to be every day killing yourself and dreading it.

Josh: Exactly.

Yolanda: And the funny thing is, because you just dread it, before you get into it. Once you get into it then you're happy and, so it's that initial thing, that little portion. I don't know how many times I would just pat myself on the back because I would do it after trying to convince myself that I couldn't, I don't have time, I have to do this, I have to do, you know, but then I would do it. And then I would just talk to myself, you go girl, you do it.

Josh: Yeah, the feeling of accomplishment is such a great feeling, especially if you don't want to do something. And so I bet there's a lot of times you didn't want to, you know, you just wanted to splurge and eat all this food or you wanted to skip exercise and you didn't, and I bet that gave you a really great feeling of accomplishment.

Yolanda: Yes, I would definitely think twice before digging in.

Josh: Yeah. Now, final advice to anyone out there listening who--this is going to be the Slim Body Minute this week by the way--because I think it's so important that people get motivation and inspiration and realize that people really can do this. What's some final advice you have to anyone out there listening that, you know, maybe they had problems in the past or doesn't think that this can be done; what advice do you have to someone who wants to lose weight and change their body like you have?

Yolanda: They just have to do it and stop talking about it, thinking about it, and stop falling off the wagon and you know, it's defeating themselves. And if you're going to do it, do it, and stop playing games. It's your life and nobody's going to exercise for you, nobody's going to watch what you're eating for you, you have to do it yourself. And one of the things that you were saying about your most important reason, and they have to really think about that, you know.

Josh: Yeah, and keep that in the forefront of their mind as to why they're doing it. You know, why is so much more important than how.

Yolanda: Right, exactly.

Josh: If you have a powerful reason to lose weight for yourself or maybe your health. But you've improved everything, you're in a healthy weight range now, you've lost 22 pounds and gained muscle. You've lost over 25 inches; you went from a size 12 to a size 6.

Yolanda: My original goal was just to get into my size 10’s that I have a closet full of.

Josh: And now they're too big.

Yolanda: And now they're huge, I can't wear them. So now I'm passing that stuff on down to my daughter and she's giving me her smaller sizes and, I keep telling them, “You can do it! You can do it!” And they’re like, “You're my mother, you look better than me.” But it's like well, get going. It's very hard, I mean they're right under my roof--well, my one daughter is anyway--right under my roof and it's like pulling teeth to get her to do it. And that's the thing; you really have to want to do it. You can't convince somebody to exercise and lose weight and eat right if they don't want to do it. They have to want to do it.

Josh: The thing is though, just for an instant, if they could feel what it would feel like to be in a new body, their new body; they would fight like crazy to have that feeling all the time.

Yolanda: That's what happened to me.

Josh: Yeah, you're one of the people who have taken action and been consistent and educated yourself with the help of our web site, SlimBodyCoach.com and the support there. And you've made that change, and now you can walk around with that great feeling all day long. I tip my hat to you, I'm really proud of you.

Yolanda: Thank you, thank you.

Josh: And “sassyjo” is your screen name, so people can contact you.

Yolanda: Yes it is. I'm so sassy these days. I earned my name.

Josh: Yes, so people can contact you and ask you questions and I'm sure you'll be willing to help them out.

Yolanda: Oh definitely.

Josh: And that's all I've got to say and I'm just so proud of you. So we will talk again soon and Molly will be in contact and for the prizes.

Yolanda: Yes, Molly, that's my girl.

Josh: And go out and have a great day and celebrate like crazy.

Yolanda: Oh, you better believe it; I'm starting right now, as soon as I get off the phone, I'm celebrating. My daughter's looking at me and I'm signaling her, I won, I won.

Josh: And celebrating doesn't mean putting all that weight back on.

Yolanda: Oh hell no! No I worked too hard for that, no.

Josh: You worked hard and also we've got a cruise to go on. So you've got to stay in good shape.

Yolanda: Maybe that's what I'll do; I'll go pump some iron. Get ready for the cruise.

Josh: Well, thanks a lot Yolanda, and we'll talk later.

Yolanda: Thank you!

Josh: Congratulations!

Yolanda: Thank you so much.
